Every successful business is built on a foundation stronger than profits. For Sankesh Bhandari, that foundation has always been trust. While many entrepreneurs chase rapid growth, Sankesh chose a different path-building long-term relationships, maintaining ethical business practices, and ensuring every customer walked away satisfied. Today, that philosophy has transformed Rocks Studio from a newly established business in 2012 into one of Gujarat’s recognized names in the natural stone industry.
A Passionate Student with a Competitive Spirit
Long before entering the business world, Sankesh was known for his discipline and determination. A graduate by education, he represented both his district and college in Cricket and Badminton. Sports taught him teamwork, consistency, patience, and the ability to perform under pressure-qualities that later shaped his entrepreneurial journey.
An Unexpected Opportunity that Changed Everything
In 2012, Sankesh and his associates received a proposal from existing stakeholders in the granite business to expand into imported marble. Rather than viewing it as just another opportunity, they recognized the growing demand for premium natural stones. Within six months, Rocks Studio was launched.
Building More Than a Business-Building Trust
Rocks Studio focused on more than selling marble and granite. It became a one-stop solution for imported marble, Brazilian granite, sandstone, and natural stones with specialized finishes including Leather, Linen, Canvas, Lapato, Flame, River Finish, Shot Blast, Calibration, and CNC processing.
The company’s philosophy became simple:
‘A deal done once is a sale, twice is business, but repeated business is trust.’
Growth Through Continuous Expansion
Growth became the company’s identity. Rocks Studio established Sahara Granito, a granite cutting factory in Himatnagar with a production capacity of approximately 1.5 lakh sq. ft. per month. In 2019, it acquired the G.D. Brown Quarry in Godhra. In 2024, it expanded further with Adhunik Grey Quarry at Chhota Udepur and Asian Top Granite Quarry at Ambaji. The company is also developing a new stockyard that will increase in-house inventory to nearly 7-8 lakh sq. ft.
Winning Industry Confidence
Today, Rocks Studio serves leading developers including Shilp Group, Savy Infrastructure, Adani Realty, PSP Projects, Madhav Infra, Sankalp Infrastructure, Whiteswan Buildcon, Golden Dharti Infra and many more, reflecting years of consistent quality and dependable service.
The Toughest Turning Point
The biggest challenge came in 2021 with internal differences among partners. After a mutual separation, the business witnessed multifold growth. Sankesh considers this bold decision one of the most important turning points in the company’s history.
Competing Through Ethics
Rather than viewing other companies as competitors, Sankesh believes unethical business practices are the industry’s biggest challenge. Rocks Studio differentiates itself through transparent communication, dependable supply chains, quality products, and long-term relationships.
People First
Trustworthiness and humility are the qualities Sankesh values most while hiring. The company maintains a supportive work culture, provides annual increments, and treats employees like family, encouraging learning instead of blaming mistakes.
Leadership Philosophy
Sankesh believes in being an expert in one field while understanding many others. He considers smart leadership to be placing the right people in the right positions with clear policies and accountability.
Balancing Success
A capable team allows him to maintain work-life balance while spending quality time with family, friends, and sports.
Vision for the Future
The company’s vision is to achieve ₹1 billion in annual sales and eventually become a public limited company while continuing to strengthen its reputation through customer trust, social media, and word-of-mouth marketing.
Success Beyond Revenue
For Sankesh, success is measured not by money but by the respect and dignity earned from customers and society.
Message to Entrepreneurs
‘Build trust and don’t run after money but goodwill.’
His journey proves that businesses built on ethics, relationships, and consistency ultimately create lasting brands.
