GCCI Aspire- Empowering Start-ups Series Inspiration to Idea

Seminar on “GCCI Aspire- Empowering Start-ups Series -1- Inspiration to Idea” was organized by GCCI in association with SIDBI and PDPU.

Guest speakers Shri R.D. Barhatt, Joint Commissioner, Start-up Cell, Government of Gujarat, Shri Priyank Shah, founder of Beardo. Shri Ruchir Joshi founder of Momoman and Shri Ankur Nigam, Partner – Ernst & Young, India made presentations on various topics of concern to Start-ups.

Shri Durgesh Buch, President GCCI in his welcome address recalled the early patterns. And way of doing business and emphasized on how technology has helped new businesses to grow and flourish. He mentioned about Ahmedabad’s journey towards food revolution and cited that many Indian giants were once a start-up. GCCI should become Start-ups’ platform and remarked that GCCI is committed to do anything for trade, commerce and business fraternity to grow especially for start-ups.

Shri Pathik Patwari, Hon. Treasurer GCCI, in his thematic address, stated that there is no age bar in starting any business it is about aspiration and ambitions. But he pointed out why from Gujarat one cannot create a start-up as large as flipkart. He further said that GCCI Aspire- Empowering Start-ups will significantly help the industry. And by next few years Gujarat will be a house of at least one Unicorn.

Shri Niraj Shah, Start-up committee member of GCCI gave a detailed and informative presentation on the Start-up Ecosystem. Shri Ankur Nigam, Partner Ernst & Young, India made comprehensive presentation on Role of Angel Investors and VC Firms. He explained in length about how the market is viable for fresh and innovative ideas. He also stated that Japan is taking lead in investing India’s innovative start-ups which have unique selling proposition (USP)
