There is an interesting story behind his decision to work on the quality certification issues. “I was implementing Quality Management Systems(QMS) and have seen the challenges we had during implementation, that gave me a trigger to help organizations and small businesses to implement these QMS effectively and in 1998. So I entered into this field of consulting and training. I took two years time between the conceptualization of my business to actually launching it in the market,” he says.
“Our Head Office is in Bangalore (Bengaluru) and we have provided services in Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Delhi, Nasik, Hyderabad, (Telangana), Durgapur (WB), Assam, Ahemadabad, Indore, Sassan (MP) Trichy, Thoothkodi, Coimbatore, Madhurai (TN), Goa, Vapi, Jharkand, Dhaman, Vishakapatnam (AP), Kerala, etc. We have planned to gain go back to All India operations,” he explains.
Dr. Jagadish is following the business module of hiring consultants for professional services and sharing profits for projects executed. The revenue model is collecting professional fees from the customers. His target clients are B2B. However, the company initiated B2C after the pandemic. According to him, KPMG is his biggest competitor.
“Our vision is to become the number one Quality Consultancy organization in India. We help individuals and Organisations to perform to their fullest potential using process and systems,” he explains to VyaparJagat.
He says he used Just Dial, BNI, Suleka for marketing practices and tools that he always relies on business development, marketing, and branding. He is following the referral model for business expansion. After the Covid 19 pandemic, he initiated a collaborative business model. He has set an ambitious target of making his organization with 100 employees and with a Rs 10 crore turnover annually.
One of the key factors he follows while hiring the new employees is a positive attitude, a bigger vision, and a passion to help people and organizations. “We have around 20 employees working with us. Most of them are seniors in terms of age and experience. They are all part of the ZDCIANS family, where we work as a team and handle customers and challenges,” he said.
Journey as an entrepreneur
According to Dr. Jagadish, the big challenge he faced in his journey as an entrepreneur is recession returning once every 6 to 7 years. “We have overcome these challenges by introducing New Products and Services during the slowdown and we have grown in spite of such challenges except during the last 2 years during Covid 19 pandemic as there was a complete lockdown and our clients were disrupted,” he explains. When asked about which was the boldest decision he ever made to have this venture work, he has a rather unique reply. He says that he may be one of the youngest consultants in India. “I started and entered into consulting and training at the age of 26 years, whereas the market trend was that consultancy professions are taken up only after retirement,” he said.
Reading, learning, exercises, plantations, attending social events are part of his life now where he spends time outside his profession. “I am a smart person because I work on schedules, get the work done from the team, and always pre-plan activities. Learning is a continuous journey. I am presently learning Self Awareness and Social media marketing. Rich Dad and Poor Dad, Magic of Thinking Big, Millionaires Mindset, Power of Giving, Who moved my cheese, etc are some of the books which have inspired me a lot,” he says. Tony Robbins for Energy, Blare Singer for Marketing, T Harvekar for Scaleup in training are his biggest role models.
His suggestion to Start-Ups is to start and never look back!
Do whatever it takes, do not rely on shortcuts, define and follow processes. He is also associated with Start-Ups through mentoring them and investing in a few.
