Dr. Shipra Gandhi had always believed in the power of helping others. It was a belief that had been instilled in her since childhood, and as she grew older, it only grew stronger. Dr. Shipra Gandhi became the founder of Spreading Happiness. Her voyage of spreading happiness started in the year 2018 with a desire to make a difference.
She started with a small act, which gave her immense happiness and the thirst for more. She began by sponsoring a “Mehendi Function” at an orphan’s wedding. While the function was going on, she felt a wave of enthusiasm, contentment, and joy among the children. They were so happy, dancing and enjoying themselves. To her surprise, most of them wrote her name on their hand with mehendi. At that moment, she realized she and her friends were Spreading Happiness.
That night, she couldn’t sleep probably because she was very happy that she could do something for those wonderful children who deserved to be happy. She decided that she wanted to do as much as possible for those in need. Gradually, they started Spreading more and more Happiness.
They are not an NGO, nor are they a registered organization. To put it simply, Spreading Happiness is a passion to bring smiles to faces, to ignite hope, and to add value to people’s lives. At Spreading Happiness, they feed the hungry daily, provide groceries, sponsor surgeries, organize medical camps, fund education, sponsor weddings for orphans, and much more. They believe that it is not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving that makes the difference.

Today, they have successfully completed three years of “spreading hope and happiness” this June. These four years are a reflection of selflessness, honesty, and unbiased service – without discrimination – helping the needy, especially the abled, transgenders, aged people, and all kinds of people who genuinely need help for their survival.
As Shipra looked back on the journey of Spreading Happiness, she was filled with gratitude. She knew that the success of the organization was due to the support of its donors, associates, team members, and family. And she knew this was only the beginning of a beautiful journey ahead.
For Shipra, the Chinese saying was not just a belief, it was a way of life. She knew that true happiness could only be found in helping others. And as long as there were people in need, Spreading Happiness would continue to spread hope and happiness to those who needed it most.
