Parag Agrawal was born on 21 May 1984 in Ajmer, India, his father was an officer in the Indian Department of Atomic Energy and his mother Veermata Jijabai is a retired professor of economics at the Institute of Technology. He is married to Vinita Agarwala, and has two children, born in 2018 and 2022.
He was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Twitter on 29 November 2021 with a ten-year tenure following the resignation of CEO Jack Dorsey. But he is an Indian-American software engineer who is the CEO of Twitter.

Parag Agrawal is a native of India and did his schooling in Maharashtra. He graduated with honors from the Atomic Energy Central School. He then went on to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology. In 2001, he completed secondary and senior secondary research in the Ph.D.

As Parag completed his education, he began working in research for Microsoft, Yahoo, and ATandT Labs, Inc. Parag joined Twitter in 2011 as a SE. In 2017, Twitter announced the appointment of Parag Agarwal as CTO. Serving as Chief Technology Officer since October 2017.
In 2018, Twitter appointed Parag Agarwal as Chief Technology Officer. As CTO he is responsible for the company’s technology strategy, a leading activist in improving the pace of development that advances the state of machine learning. In 2019 Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced that Agarwal would take charge of Project Bluesky, an initiative to develop a decentralized social network protocol.
