In this success post, we are going to share the story of Frederik Paulsen, who was born on the 30th of October 1950 in Stockholm, Sweden. His father was Frederik Paulsen Sr, the founder of Ferring Pharmaceuticals.
Frederik Paulsen grew up in Sweden with his father and his father’s second wife, Eva Wolf Frandsen – one of the founding researchers at Ferring. He attended school in Sweden and then went on to study chemistry at the Christian Albrecht University in Kiel, and business administration at Lund University in Sweden.
Frederik Paulsen Career
Since 1988, Frederik has been based in Switzerland near Ferring Pharmaceutical global headquarters in Saint-Prex. His business interests focus mainly on the Ferring Pharmaceuticals Group, where he has worked since 1976 and has been the chairman since 1988.
During this period, he established the company his father founded in Malmo, Sweden, as an international operation. Today, Ferring has operations in more than 50 countries and sells its products in more than 100 countries across the globe. Ferring specialized from the outset in peptide drugs and has continued in its commitment to their development.

Frederik Paulsen Personal Life
Since 2009, Frederik also has held the position of the honorary consul general of the Russian Federation in Lausanne.
In the month of February 2020, Paulsen was awarded the Order of the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem, by her majesty the Queen.
