He was born on the 28th of December 1939 in Russell city of Kansas.
Philip is the co-founder of the major soccer league, and many sports teams such as the Chicago Fire, Houston Dynamo, Los Angeles Galaxy, New Jersey, San Jose Earthquakes, and New York Metro Stars. Philip Anschutz bought out his father drilling company, Circle A Drilling, in 1961 and earned large returns in Wyoming. He has invested in stocks, railroads, and real estate. He then began investing in entertainment companies, co-founding Major League Soccer as well as multiple teams, which includes the Los Angeles Galaxy, Chicago Fire, Houston Dynamo, San Jose Earthquakes, and the New York / New Jersey Metro Stars.
Philip owns stakes in the Los Angeles Lakers, Venues, and Los Angeles Kings, which includes the StubHub Centre, O2 Arena, and Staples Centre.
In 1970, Philip bought the 250000 acres Baughman Farms, one of the country’s largest farming corporations, in Liberal, Kansas, for $10 million. The following year, he acquired 9 million acres along the Utah-Wyoming border.
This produced his first fortune in the oil business. In the early 1980s, the Philip Ranch, with its 1 billion barrel oil pocket, became the largest oil field discovery in the US since Prudhoe Bay in Alaska in 1968. He sold an interest in it’s to Mobil Oil for $500 million in 1982.
