AI-powered startup Blackboard Radio raises seed funding

Blackboard Radio which is an AI-powered and supported personalised spoken English coach. But has now secured $100000 in the funding round of seed from the social enterprise incubator Villgro. As well as from other marquee angel investors.

The company revealed that the seed funding round would be going to be used to accelerate the development of the startup AI-supported personalised English Speaking coach for school girls students in Tier II and III cities in India.

The startup which is co-founded by the IIT Alumnus Arpit Jain, Shubham Gupta, and Vatsul, with the AI-powered personalised spoken English coach. And enables the English conversational mastery by offering personalised instruction. And interactive over a basic smartphone to young children from all the socio-economic backgrounds.

Using state-of-the-art machine learning models uniquely trained on Indian accents of young children. the app provides automated scoring of pronunciation on a user’s speech and provides feedback to improve. Blackboard Radio has created a platform where students can speak freely without fear of judgment. BUT which helps students to become more confident.

The simplicity of the innovation

He also revealed that the long-term vision for the underlying technology is to be able to be a mimic a physical English teacher and offer feedback on deeper aspects of speech like expression and intonation. Moreover, as students speak more on the platform, it even creates more data to improve their pronunciation engine ever further.

The startup has also tested its hypothesis and has received early traction and tests with more than 2500 users all across the country.

Blackboard Radio investor Villgro has even worked with more than 250 social enterprises. And its past incubates include the businesses like the Vahan, Skymet. And also Uniphore which has been expanded to across the globe.
