My name is CA Kiran Vivek Sodha, and today I take pride in introducing myself as a Chartered Accountant and Partner at SSRPN & Co., overseeing operations across Gujarat. At the age of 34, I am entrusted with responsibilities that range from Forensic Audit, Debt Syndication, Virtual CFO services, taxation, management consulting, business structuring and strategic advisory services. But while I stand confidently today, my journey toward becoming a respected professional began in the most unexpected and challenging circumstances.

I do not come from a family of professionals. In fact, no one in my family was highly educated or professionally established. Choosing to pursue CA was, therefore, not just a career choice – it was a bold challenge against limitations of environment and expectations. Clearing CA was not easy, but with the blessing of God, support from my mother and teachers, and my own rigorous hard work, I cleared my CA in my first attempt, something that became the foundation of who I am today.

As a woman in finance, I entered a corporate world where women were not always treated equally, especially at crucial stages of life such as motherhood. I saw talented women being forced to choose between career and family. When I became a mother, I made a promise to myself – I would not leave my child crying at home and go to a workspace that does not support women when they need it the most. That moment of painful realization sparked a new direction for my life:
I would start my own practice – not just for my growth, but to build a work culture where women are respected and supported.
That is how my entrepreneurial journey began.

I am based in Vadodara, Gujarat, India, and my clients include industrialists, corporates, MSMEs, professionals, and individuals across the financial ecosystem. What sets me apart is my strong ethics, personal attention to every client, and uncompromised dedication toward professional integrity – qualities that define not just my practice, but also my identity.I believe that a Chartered Accountant today must evolve with time. So along with traditional financial services, I ensure that my work is aligned with technology, automation, and modern finance tools to provide faster, smarter and more reliable solutions to clients. My association with professional platforms such as BTBA, ICAI, and Fempreneur keeps me connected with industry growth and a strong community of entrepreneurs.

My larger vision is bold and clear –
To build an empire that becomes well-known across the world
To work with governments on domestic and global levels where my competence and ethics are valued and respected
I am not building only a practice – I am building a legacy.

But ambition always comes with challenges. The most difficult chapter of my journey was working on patience. In CA practice, income generation begins only after five years – and even then, very gradually. Choosing to practice instead of taking up a corporate job was the boldest decision of my life. It required faith, sacrifice, and the courage to go against the fast-paced expectations of our “5G world.” But I stayed committed, and today I see the long-term rewards of that patience.

Being a young female practicing Chartered Accountant brought its own struggle. Many people were hesitant to trust my capabilities only because I was not the stereotypical “senior male CA.” I had to prove my competence – not once, but repeatedly. Over time, my work spoke for me. Today, I am proud that I am considered a faithful and trustworthy CA, and that validation from clients is more powerful than any external approval.

Managing work-life balance was initially tough. Running a practice while managing motherhood and family responsibilities was almost overwhelming. But with time, I began recruiting and training staff, which reduced my workload and helped me scale my practice. I will always be grateful for my husband’s unconditional support – without his understanding, my journey ahead would have been much more difficult.

Outside work, I spend time on my own choices and interests – something I once ignored while fulfilling family responsibilities. I believe self-growth makes us better in every area of life. I am also learning and exploring Artificial Intelligence because I want my practice to stay ahead of time.

I consider myself more of a smart professional than only a hardworking one. In the earlier stages of a career, it is important to be good at everything – learning every skill required to survive and create opportunities. But with time, when one’s expertise becomes strong, we must delegate other areas and focus on our strongest skill – because expertise builds long-term value.

My biggest inspiration is Indira Nooyi, a woman who reached the top despite every social and gender-based challenge. She reminds me that even though society may expect women to compromise, we must not allow biases to interfere with our growth. That thought gives me strength every day.

I do consider myself successful – not because of awards or income, but because people trust me. Being recognized as Women Entrepreneur Under 35 by Fempreneur is a milestone close to my heart, but the true reward lies in the confidence my clients have in my integrity. My success mantra is simple:

Focus on your goals like Arjuna. When your aim is clear, your actions follow naturally.

To every young entrepreneur and working woman, here is the advice I live by:
Never give up by looking at the length of the journey. Stay strong during the down phase and stay humble during the up phase. Risk is the best and worst friend in business – only those who take it understand its worth.

I started my journey with no family background in business or finance, and yet today I stand here – growing, learning, and building a future where women do not have to choose between ambition and motherhood. I am proof that when we combine vision, ethics, faith, and unstoppable dedication, we can rise not only in our profession but in society.

My journey is not just about success – it is about significance.
It is about showing that a woman can be a mother, a leader, a professional, and an empire-builder – all at the same time.

And I am still just getting started.
The future is waiting – and I am walking toward it with purpose.
