TiE India Angels (TIA) today announced the launch of its Ahmedabad chapter with an aim to help connect start-ups and Angel investors across India. It is a part of a pan-India Angel Network focused on providing capital and mentoring to the next generation of budding entrepreneurs.

TIA is a network of Angel investors across TiE (The Indus Entrepreneurs) chapters in India. Its unique value proposition is that it provides start-ups access to funding and mentoring not only from local investors but also from investors and mentors from any chapter in the TiE network globally. This opens up global opportunities for local start-ups in Gujarat.

The TiE Angels Network is doing a fantastic job to support start-ups by providing funding and mentoring to budding entrepreneurs. We believe there is a tremendous requirement for such a global network in Ahmedabad. Many start-ups here need funding and guidance, and many Angel investors have the resources to invest in start-ups. We aim to emerge as a bridge between the two to further strengthen TIA’s commitment to early-stage and idea-stage start-ups,said Vaibhav Shah, Founder, Monarch Networth Capital, and Chairman of TiE Ahmedabad Angels.

Ahead of the formal launch, the Governing Council of Ahmedabad chapter met with TIA Chair Mahavir Sharma last week and presented the roadmap of the chapter’s plans.

Any chartered member of TiE can become a part of TIA and get the opportunity to invest locally and even nationally in an idea as early-stage investors. Members can download the TiE India Angels App from Google Playstore or Apple store and register. They can also register by filling a simple form on the TiE India Angels platform. Once they are registered, they will have time to participate in chapter-level start-up funding and the opportunity to invest at the national level in deals curated by other TiE chapters, says Saurabh Mehta, President, TiE Ahmedabad.

Start-ups can apply to the TiE chapters in their respective geographies and once approved, I put it up for investment to investors across the TIA and TiE networks. In addition, the Angel group will evaluate start-ups for funding through a regular calendar of pitch sessions. It also focused TIA on providing guidance to start-ups and allowing its members to learn about Angel investment, trending domains, and investment trends.

The TIA platform allows start-ups and Angel investors to gain insights and feedback from a diverse investor group and access a global network of mentors and advisors with industry-specific expertise and connections.
