When you hear the words “home security,” you’re probably thinking about security systems, but it’s a lot more than that. Home security is more than simply a set of devices; it’s a way of thinking that you can incorporate into your daily routine. Your house is a secure haven where you can weather life’s storms, from taxing jobs to sky-high gas bills to actual severe weather. The question of how to preserve such safety is aided by home security.
Unfortunately, home security isn’t always about recovering your safe haven after a break-in. And doing everything you can to avoid it occurring again.
DFS Services
Started by Ashish Gupta, Digital Fire and Security Services (DFS Services) is an Indian start-up working closely with MCDI Canada and AJAX Ukraine. They are highly focused on technology sharing, R&D, product design, solution development, and CMS support in the security segment. They offer robust, reliable, monitored, and fully connected security services at a fair price. This could not have been possible without the core team of chip designers, network engineers, industry experts. And their first set of customers that trust them with the products that have been involved in constant research and development for unparalleled service and customer experience.
DFS has created a dependable, scalable model and is growing in double digits, despite the lockdown and stand-still market.
Not easy road to take
“It wasn’t an easy road; there were hurdles, not just in terms of public awareness, but also in terms of India’s absence of an effective ecosystem,” Ashish Gupta adds.
“When they tried to set up connectivity between customer sites. And our central monitoring station ran into problems and technical roadblocks; multichannel M2M SIM cards are still a foreign concept in India; communication latency is poor, and finding good quality ‘Made in India’ sensors is still a pipe dream. They didn’t have a choice but to re-invent the wheel! In terms of hardware, they have begun working with partners in Ukraine and Argentina. They succeeded in producing a solution that is on par with the top brands in the west after years of hard effort, and they are proud of it!” he says.
DFS Services’ whole team is focused on providing 100 percent dependability, one of the company’s most outstanding features. This has enabled them to create a system that requires you to check your smartphone every few minutes. In other words, a system that is continually watched round the clock from a central monitoring station transfers security responsibility from the end-user to specialists!
They specialize in professionally monitored security solutions and employ award-winning Ukrainian alarm systems. It’s known as ‘The Security Grid.’
Happy Clients
Kerala Jewellers, a pleased client, stated: “We tried an alarm system from a well-known vault and safe manufacturer, but it was about double the price. And it wasn’t even monitored! We are extremely pleased with what we received from DFS, and I feel that every jeweller should have a DFS security grid.“
The venture’s biggest competitors are companies that provide the same line of services, including Godrej Secure, Amazon, and Safewise. Despite these many competitors, DFS Services prove to be competent as they specialize in professionally monitored security solutions and use award-winning alarm systems from Ukraine.
‘The Security Grid‘ is what they like to call it. One of the best things about it is that customers can integrate it with their smart doorbells and cameras for maximum protection. Living in a nation like India. It is not an exaggeration to suggest that Indians have grown accustomed to living in dread and uncertainty. We will be constantly worried if we travel elsewhere and leave our home alone for a week. Why this is the case is the question. Why can’t we just pack our bags and tour the world without having to be concerned about the safety of our house or shop? The audience for home security is our target market.
Ashish Gupta
Now that he’s established in the United Kingdom, Ashish still identifies himself as a “proud Indian” who is happy to talk about his country’s successes. “We’ve gone to Mars, we’re a nuclear power, and we’ve produced the world’s finest digital start-ups. However, we have a long way to go in terms of establishing safer neighborhoods. We have chosen to alter it – one person after another, one house after another” because every time you read a newspaper. But it is loaded with occurrences such as robbery/theft/fire accidents/chain snatching,” he says. Adding that on a yearly basis, a European individual spends approximately 600-800 Euros on security. And this is why the country’s crime rate is significantly lower than India.”
He opines that we usually have a CCTV camera that may or may not work correctly. Or an elderly guard uncle who can’t catch a burglar on his own and call it ‘security’.
“There are no shortcuts available. We give an online demo through video chat to assist consumers to learn more about monitored solutions and get an unbiased assessment of their security requirements,”
Challenges
When Ashish Gupta ‘accidentally’ joined an IT consulting business after arming himself with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the prestigious National Institute of Technology. Little did he know that this detour would lead to an unexpected trip! A voyage that will alter the basics of home security in India for the better by delivering security systems. But that is very dependable, professionally monitored, and affordable to any middle-class family. It took him one year to make his idea into reality.
It all began in 2008 when Ashish Gupta came to the United Kingdom. And saw a disparity in knowledge levels between the two countries about how they viewed the idea of security.
“We Indians think quite differently from the rest of the world; security is optional for us! We think about amenities like false ceilings, beautiful woodwork, modular kitchens, imported tiles. Or whatever else to show off our wealth when buying a property, but what about security? That’s not generally on the to-do list!” he points out.
Future Plans
They believe in a utopia in which people may live without worrying about the protection of their homes or loved ones. But they feel that individuals should be free to enjoy their vacation without fear of being robbed because their home is unoccupied. They think that not every door and window in a person’s home needs to be reinforced with iron grills for the sake of safety. If you are ever puzzled why individuals in western nations have huge glass doors and windows with no iron grills in their homes, look closely. You’ll notice that they’ve chosen a far better technique of keeping themselves secure. One that is not just reactive but also preventative. Also, they have a dream, and they’re working hard to make it a reality – one house at a time!
