The Role of a Teacher: A Lifelong Commitment

Many believe that teaching is an easy profession, but becoming a teacher requires dedication, training, and a deep understanding of students’ psychology. Just as a doctor heals the sick, a teacher eradicates ignorance and nurtures intellect. The B.Ed. training convinced Bharti Mishra that teaching is no less than a noble medical profession – where the teacher is responsible for the mental and emotional well-being of students.

A teacher’s duty is not limited to academic lessons but extends to moral and ethical education. Bharti Mishra firmly believes that Hindi literature has the power to shape the psyche and values of students. As Hindi is the national language, it carries within it the rich cultural heritage of India. Her mission is to preserve and promote Indian values, ethics, and traditions through her teaching.

Hindi Literature: A Tool for Moral and Cultural Education

Bharti Mishra uses literature as a medium to instill moral values, patriotism, and philosophy of life in students. She encourages students to read Hindi literary masterpieces, including:

Premchand’s stories – To teach the value of humanity and compassion.
Maithilisharan Gupta’s ‘Bharat Bharti’ – To cultivate patriotism among students.
Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s works like Rashmirathi, Mitti ki Aur, and Urvashi – To instill bravery, honesty, and life philosophy.

She believes that storytelling is an effective way to capture students’ attention and make learning more engaging. Through real-life examples and moral lessons, she makes literature more relatable and impactful.

Innovative Teaching Methods and Activities

A teacher’s role extends beyond textbooks. To make learning more engaging and interactive, Bharti Mishra has introduced various activities in her teaching methods, including:

Celebration of Hindi Divas (14th September), Tulsi Jayanti, and Kabir Jayanti to honor great poets and their contributions.
Special assemblies and exhibitions showcasing Hindi literature and authors.
Competitions like poem recitation, dictation, and chart-making to strengthen students’ understanding of grammar and creative expression.
Grammar chart-making exercises that help students memorize important language rules.

Modern Challenges in Education: Adapting to the Digital Age

With the rapid influence of Western culture and digital advancements, young students are gradually drifting away from Indian traditions and values. Bharti Mishra acknowledges that social media and mobile technology play a crucial role in modern education. Instead of restricting its use, she advocates for integrating digital tools into the learning process.

She suggests:

Using online resources, educational apps, and digital platforms to make Hindi learning more interactive.
Encouraging students to use social media for learning rather than wasting time on unproductive activities.
Guiding parents on how to ensure constructive mobile usage for their children.

By leveraging technology effectively, she believes that teachers can enhance student engagement, improve learning outcomes, and preserve cultural identity in the digital age.

Commitment to Teaching and the Future of Education

Bharti Mishra firmly believes that a teacher is the foundation of a strong, ethical, and educated society. She feels honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of shaping young minds, instilling in them values of respect, knowledge, and perseverance.

Her lifelong commitment to teaching has allowed her to inspire students to embrace their language, literature, and cultural heritage.
