Sankesh Bhandari transformed a marble venture into one of Gujarat’s trusted natural stone brands
In industries built on permanence, few assets matter more than trust. For Sankesh Bhandari, founder of Rocks Studio, trust has never been a by-product of business success—it has been the foundation upon which every milestone has been built.
Over the past decade, Sankesh has guided Rocks Studio from a modest imported marble venture into a comprehensive natural stone enterprise serving some of Gujarat’s leading developers, architects, and designers. The journey reflects a blend of discipline, strategic foresight, and an unwavering commitment to ethical growth.
Beyond the Boardroom
Long before entering the world of natural stones, Sankesh learned the value of perseverance through sport. During his academic years, he represented both his district and college in cricket and badminton, experiences that shaped his leadership philosophy.
He learnt the importance of teamwork, resilience under pressure, and the importance of consistency. Those formative years cultivated a calm and focused mindset that would later prove invaluable in navigating entrepreneurial challenges.
Recognising Opportunity

The turning point arrived in 2012 when Sankesh and his partners received an opportunity to diversify from granite into the rapidly expanding imported marble segment. Sensing significant market potential, they acted decisively.
Within six months, Rocks Studio was established.
What began as a trading venture soon evolved into a trusted destination for premium natural stone solutions. From the outset, the company embraced a principle that continues to define its identity: one transaction may create a customer, but trust creates a brand.
The distinctive approach
Rather than pursuing aggressive short-term gains, they focused on transparency, quality assurance, and enduring relationships with clients. That approach helped establish credibility among architects, interior designers, builders, developers, and homeowners alike.
From Trading to Complete Integration
Today, Rocks Studio offers an extensive portfolio that includes imported marble, Brazilian marble, granite, sandstone, customised natural stones, and advanced finishing solutions such as leather, linen, canvas, lapato, flame, river, and shot-blast textures.
Yet the company’s most significant growth story lies in its strategy of backward integration.
Recognising the importance of controlling quality and supply chains, Bhandari expanded beyond distribution. The establishment of Sahara Granito in Himatnagar created manufacturing capabilities with a production capacity approaching 1.5 lakh square feet per month.
In 2019, the company strengthened its position further by acquiring the G.D. Brown Granite Quarry in Godhra. Additional quarry operations followed in Chhota Udepur and Ambaji, providing greater control over sourcing and product consistency.
The next chapter is equally ambitious. A new stockyard under development is expected to raise total inventory capacity to nearly 8 lakh square feet, significantly enhancing delivery capabilities and customer responsiveness.
Earning the Confidence of Industry Leaders
Over the years, Rocks Studio has become a preferred partner for prominent developers across Gujarat, serving organisations such as Adani Realty, PSP Projects, Shilp Group, Savy Infrastructure, Chavda Infra, and several others.
For Bhandari, these relationships represent more than commercial success. They validate a philosophy centred on reliability and long-term value creation.
Turning Adversity into Acceleration
Every entrepreneurial journey encounters defining tests. For Rocks Studio, that moment arrived in 2021 when differences among partners resulted in an amicable separation.
Rather than allowing uncertainty to stall progress, Bhandari viewed the transition as an opportunity for reinvention. The restructuring brought sharper strategic focus, stronger operational systems, and renewed momentum.
The years that followed witnessed substantial growth, reinforcing a lesson familiar to seasoned entrepreneurs: resilience often becomes the catalyst for transformation.
Leadership Built on People and Systems
Bhandari’s management philosophy is refreshingly pragmatic.
He believes businesses succeed when capable individuals are empowered within well-defined systems. His guiding principle—placing the right person in the right role—has helped create a workplace culture rooted in respect, accountability, and continuous learning.
Employees are encouraged to view mistakes as opportunities for improvement rather than reasons for criticism. Annual increments, employee welfare initiatives, and a supportive environment reflect the company’s commitment to long-term relationships internally as much as externally.
The Road Ahead
Looking ahead, Sankesh’s ambitions extend well beyond current achievements.
His vision includes building a ₹1 billion enterprise, strengthening Rocks Studio’s national presence, and eventually transitioning the organisation into a public limited company. Each investment, acquisition, and expansion initiative is aligned with sustainable growth rather than rapid scale alone.
The philosophy guiding that vision remains elegantly simple: goodwill precedes wealth.
“Build trust. Don’t run after money-run after goodwill. Money will follow.”
In an era where speed often dominates business conversations, Sankesh Bhandari offers a different blueprint—one grounded in patience, integrity, and relationships. It is a model that has transformed Rocks Studio into more than a natural stone company. It has become a brand built to endure, one that understands that the strongest foundations in business, much like in architecture, are the ones built to last.
From a Sports Enthusiast to Building An Enterprise / Learning the Spirit of Discipline
Sankesh Bhandari completed his graduation while actively participating in sports. During his college days, he represented both his district and college in Cricket and Badminton. These experiences shaped his discipline, competitive mindset, teamwork, and determination-qualities that would later become the foundation of his entrepreneurial journey.
Rather than viewing sports as just competition, he considers them one of the biggest reasons behind his ability to remain calm under pressure and focused during challenging business situations.

This strategic expansion ensures faster deliveries, better inventory management, and a wider product range for customers.
The Toughest Chapter: A Partnership Split
Every entrepreneurial journey faces defining moments.
For Sankesh, the most difficult period came in 2021, when internal differences among partners resulted in a mutual separation.
While such situations often slow businesses down, Sankesh chose to view it as an opportunity to rebuild with greater clarity and focus.
The result was remarkable.
Following the restructuring, Rocks Studio experienced multifold growth, proving that resilience and decisive leadership can turn setbacks into new beginnings.
A Workplace Built on Respect
Sankesh believes that great businesses are built by great people.
Rather than creating a rigid corporate environment, Rocks Studio promotes a culture based on trust, humility, and mutual respect.
Employees are encouraged to learn from mistakes instead of being discouraged by them. The company also focuses on employee welfare by offering annual increments, essential benefits, and a supportive work environment that values long-term relationships.
Leadership Philosophy: The Right Person in the Right Place
Sankesh considers himself a smart entrepreneur rather than simply a hardworking one.
He believes successful businesses are built on systems and people.

This practical approach has enabled Rocks Studio to scale while maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Personal Life Beyond Business
Despite leading a rapidly growing enterprise, Sankesh values balance in life.
He spends his free time enjoying sports, connecting with family and friends, and ensuring that a capable team manages day-to-day operations effectively. This balance helps him stay focused and energized for the challenges of entrepreneurship.
Advice to Young Entrepreneurs
When asked what advice he would give to aspiring entrepreneurs, Sankesh offers a message rooted in experience:
“Build trust. Don’t run after money-run after goodwill. Money will follow.”
This simple yet powerful philosophy has guided every stage of his entrepreneurial journey and continues to shape the future of Rocks Studio.
A Legacy Built on Trust
From entering an unfamiliar industry in 2012 to building manufacturing facilities, owning granite quarries, serving some of Gujarat’s leading developers, and preparing for the next phase of expansion, Sankesh Bhandari’s journey demonstrates that enduring success comes from integrity, resilience, and a relentless focus on customer relationships.
Today, Rocks Studio stands not merely as a supplier of natural stones but as a symbol of trust, quality, and long-term commitment. With an ambitious vision and a strong ethical foundation, Sankesh Bhandari continues to shape a business that is built to last-one stone, one relationship, and one milestone at a time.
